More Information - March 2021 Billing Issue

A number of bills were recently issued to customers that did not reflect abatements for second meters.  We are working with our billing company to make corrections and will be updating customer accounts over the next few days.

We apologize to affected customers for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to remedy this issue.

Who is impacted?

A small number of our residential customers who have irrigation systems and participate in the LSDC's 2nd Meter Program.

If you do not have a second water meter you are not impacted by this issue.

What happened?

Typically the LSDC applies outdoor water use abatements to eligible residential customers after the end of the calendar year and this abatement is reflected in the next sewer billing cycle.  However, the abatements were not reflected in accounts for this cycle due to a billing process issue.

How is it being corrected?

The LSDC is working with our billing company to correct the issue as expeditiously as possible.  Accounts for impacted customers are being recalculated and a corrected bill will be reissued as soon as it is available.

What should I do if I believe I am impacted?

There is no need to contact us at this time.

The LSDC utilizes a database system and has a list of impacted customers.  If you are impacted you will receive a personalized communication from us in the next few business days.

Batch corrections are now going out and are expected to be complete by Wednesday March 17th.  Please check your online account page and if the balance has not been corrected by end of day March 17th please contact us.

What is the timing for corrections?

We expect that impacted accounts will be corrected by March 17th.
